Being tourists in our own city, Matt and I took a day trip to Governors Island this past weekend. Any of you NYC locals done this already? So much fun! For a round-trip ferry ride from Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 6 to the historic island, it's an amazing $2. Plus, you get some awesome skyline views of downtown Jersey City and Manhattan for your Instagram-ing pleasure. The island is full of parks, green fields, hammocks, food trucks, ice cream and photo-op areas for you to enjoy. Just remember to bring your own blankets, bottled water and SUN SCREEN. Will definitely be coming back to this little slice of paradise.
