la nolita

Top: American Apparel // Skirt: Zara (last season, but love this style and this style) // Bag: Mina Miyaki 'Nolita' c/o // Shoes: Joe Fresh // Sunglasses: Karen Walker 'Super Duper' // Lips: Stila 'Aria' // Nails: OPI 'Alpine Snow'

Hey beautiful people! It's been a minute since I've posted and I apologize. Life has been bringing a lot of big decisions lately and many changes, which I promise to update you once everything settles!

In the meantime, I've had the pleasure of working on this collaboration with the very talented Mina Miyaki, showing off her gorgeous handmade bags all made right here in NYC. This pink crossover from her first collection is called 'Nolita' and she's just as fun as that area of NYC. This very bag was even featured in British Vogue recently! I love it for its versatility, bold prints and pop of color. I've been using it mostly as a clutch/makeup bag without the chain, but as a crossover, it's the perfect length.

If you're in New York City area on September 26th, stop by this pop up shop in Brooklyn to shop these cute bags and pouches in person. Also, be sure to check out the Mina Miyaki Etsy store, Instagram and newsletter for updates!

Becca

laid back

Tee: American Apparel // Jeans: Zara (last season, similar here) // Bag: Gucci // Shoes: Dolce Vita 'Umbria' // Sunglasses: Prada // Earrings: J.Crew // Lips: NARS 'Quito' lipgloss

Happy Friday, everyone! Here's my last post from Florida (def not taken in this 3 degree NYC weather!). My sister and I shot these photos while shopping last Sunday at the Sawgrass Mills outlet mall, my absolute fav mall to go to whenever I visit home. I always have to stop by Neiman Marcus Last Call and we did some major damage there! On the rotation, will soon be the start of a series of "How I Shop" - how to find great deals and how to score investment designer pieces at specific stores and online sites. I hope you find it fun and useful! You're definitely going to want to see what I found... Stay tuned!

so long summer

Yesterday, I wore a scarf for the first time this fall season. Definitely bittersweet, but I do love fall in New York City. I guess it's so long summer.

Happy Friday to you!

getaway

Dress (worn as cover up): Kora Rae c/o // Bathing Suits: American Apparel // Hat: Forever 21 // Sandals: Zara (also love this style) // Sunglasses: Karen Walker 'Super Duper' // Jewelry: Bauble Bar, Jessica Fang // Nails: Essie 'Blanc' // Instant Camera: Polaroid 300

TGIF! Looking for a place to getaway for the weekend? My NYC people, you must visit Rockaway Beach especially at 97th Street. This has been my "vacation"spot for the past two weekends for the fresh ocean air, the sound of the waves and the SUN. Being a Florida girl, this beach has my approval and is one of the top in my books.

On the boardwalk, there's plenty of food choices, including BBQ, arepas, smoothies/ice cream, banh mi's and much more. There's even a beer garden and live music! What's not to love? If you don't mind waiting a little longer, you MUST try Rockaway Taco - the fish tacos are perfection. What are you waiting for?  Hop on an A train to Queens/Far Rockaway and celebrate the weekend ;)

Becca

P.S.
I want to wish the happiest of birthdays to the love of my life, Matt! You are my everything and I am so so lucky to have you in my life. Time to celebrate! Love you! #justus

summer essentials

Jacket: Target (old, but similar here and here) // Crop Top: American Apparel // Pants: Zara (also love this pair) // Purse: Chanel // Sandals: Zara // Sunglasses: Ray Ban // Jewelry: Bauble Bar, Gucci // Lips: Sephora 'Scarlet' Luster // Nails: Essie 'Blanc'

Summer is flying by and I have been trying to fill up my calendar with as much New York happenings as possible. Matt and I have been hitting up new restaurants (this one and this one), rooftop bars, and outdoor concerts. So the important thing for me as I get dressed to go out is comfort comfort comfort. This outfit includes all of my essential summer pieces that are both comfortable and stylish.

------------------------------

1. The Denim Jacket - A closet staple for all that will take you from season to season, especially summer to fall; try darker shades for a more polished and fancier vibe. When not in use, just tie around the waist.
2. The Crop Top - Stop fighting it. This top is here to stay and with the high-waisted skirts, shorts and jeans that are trending right now, how can you not try one? I got this one from American Apparel, but Zara and Express also have some amazing ones.
3. The Pajama Pants - MC Hammer had one thing going for him that was 2 legit 2 quit (no? too much?) Pajama trousers and palazzo pants make for an easy breezy summer outfit. Zara knows what's up.
4. The Slides - From Birkenstocks to Teeva to Steve Madden, my feet are so thankful these sandals are back on the fashion forefront. I am always so inspired by the street style and how these women make sandals look so fresh.
5. The Aviators - These shades were made for summer concerts and the beach. They just scream 'too cool for school' and go with everything from dresses to ripped jeans and moto jackets.

------------------------------

To score all these pieces for even less, try signing up on Raise, an online site where you can sell or buy discounted gift cards. American Apparel, Express and Target cards are available on this site. Want to try out this red lip color I'm wearing from Sephora? They even have beauty gift cards available here too! It's such a brilliant way to get rid of gift cards you don't want to use and benefit from the ones people are selling! I plan to start using this site for birthday and wedding gifts.. and maybe even throwing in a Starbucks gift card for myself ;)

Thanks so much for reading!

into the wild

Jacket: Zara (similar here but obsessed with this pastel one) // Crop Top: American Apparel // Pants: Forever 21 (similar here and here) // Shoes: Coach // Bag: Prada (vintage) // Sunglasses: Ray Ban // Lips: MAC 'Rebel'

I wore this outfit to dinner when my sister visited from London last weekend. It's a quick, yet chic, outfit combo that is so comfortable! I called it Pajama Street Style. You could also pair this outfit with slip-on sneakers or even high-top Nike Dunks for a more casual day out.

Happy Hump Day!
