summer suiting

Jacket and Shorts: LOFT // Top: LOFT // Wallet: Gucci (zip around version here) // Heels: Zara (old, but similar here) // Sunglasses: Ray Ban // Jewelry: Bauble Bar, JewelMint // Lips: MAC 'Speak Louder'

I've been craving some matchy-matchy pieces to rock this summer and this LOFT set was just what I looking for. Each piece can be styled separately, but together, they create a clean, polished look especially when paired with neutral accessories. Next on my list is bright, patterned suiting in geometric shapes or florals! Zara has really been killing it lately with this trend (love this look and this look).

As you're reading this, I am making my way down the East coast to Florida. The weather forecast predicts thunderstorms all week, but hopefully that will change so I can at least get some color!
Cheers to a wonderful weekend!

overallin

Overalls: Express // Sweater: Rebecca Minkoff (skirt version here and here) // Bag: Chanel // Heels: Zara (old, but similar here) // Sunglasses: Karen Walker 'Super Duper' // Jewelry: Bauble Bar, JewelMint // Lips: Two Faced 'Runway Red' // Nails: Essie 'Hip-Anema'

Finally gave in to the updated and modernized overalls. Oh how the 90's middle school girl in me wants to throw on a pair of Tommy Hilfiger boxers, plaid flannel and oversized Nautica jacket. But alas, here I am almost 20 years later, excitedly styling this fitted pair with Aaliyah's 'One in a Million' playing in my head.

Definitely inspired by Chriselle Lim's video of How to Wear Overalls in 5 Different Ways.. I went for more feminine pieces, like this laced crew neck sweater, bright sandal heels and some sparkly jewels. Could also see this paired with a crop top and stiletto pumps or fun flats like my girl, Pop of Cyn, did with her pair. Great minds think alike!
How are you styling your overalls?

And to answer my best friend Leah's question...... #twostraps.

springtime in brooklyn

Top: Zara (old, but similar here) // Skirt: Zara (also love this one) // Heels: Zara (this season's version) // Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff (smaller version here, also need all of these) // Sunglasses: Stella McCartney via Nordstrom Rack // Jewelry: JewelMint // Lips: NARS 'Schiap' // Nails: OPI 'Lincoln Park After Dark'

When I saw this skirt on Zara's website, I instantly fell in love. How perfect is this linen midi skirt for the spring/summer season? The eyelet details and high waist fit are what make it so versatile. I decided to style this piece with another version of a white-on-white look (see previous outfit post here), but added pops of color to this white palette with a few bold accessories.

The colorful statement necklace and bracelet immediately caught my eye on the JewelMint website and are just so gorgeous in these pastel colors. I drew from the cobalt blue in the necklace and matched my new sunnies, picked up at the new Nordstrom Rack on Fulton Street, Brooklyn! Lastly, my shopping adventures last weekend at the #RMsamplesale led me to this sunny pastel pouch, perfectly adorned with my initial! It was meant to be. I also picked up a MAB bag to use for work everyday and an amazing red leather moto jacket (with some zippers). Definitely coming up on the blog soon. If you missed the NYC/LA/San Fran sample sales, not to worry.. the last day to shop online is today!

Have a great day!

fight for a cause

Cardigan: Express // Dress: Club Monaco via Housing Works (similar here and here) // Heels: Zara // Bag: Be & D (old, but similar here) // Watch: Michael Kors // Rings: Gucci, JewelMint, Lillot // Lipstain: Stila 'Merlot' // Nails: Deborah Lippmann 'Blue Orchid'

As a healthcare provider who serves and cares for patients with HIV/AIDS, I support wholeheartedly any organization whose mission includes ending this epidemic and helping those affected. That's why I shop at Housing Works. Not only can I discover great thrift finds like this Club Monaco dress (only $25!), but by shopping there, I know my money is going to toward helping people with HIV/AIDS find shelter, medical care and jobs. It's a win-win! Housing Works has several locations throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, definitely take the time to stop by! They not only carry men's and women's clothing/accessories, they also have some amazing furniture, art and home decor.

I am also walking in the annual AIDS Walk New York on May 18th in Central Park and would appreciate your donation. Any amount you can donate can truly help or if you're free, join the walk! Click here to donate toward my team. Thank you so much! I hope you have a great rest of the week.
