here's to you

Here's to you, my hero, my dad. The most patient, supportive, intelligent man I know. Thank you for walking me down the aisle almost two months ago to marry the love of my life. Thank you always pushing me to excel in school and my career, to learn something new every day, to always maintain a good sense of humor and to always keep up with Game of Thrones so we can have our weekly theory discussions. You are truly the best!

And to my new father-in-law, I am so excited and thankful to be officially a part of the Barros family - your family. Thank you for raising such a respectable and caring son. We are both so blessed to have you as a role model and dad! Love you both!

Hi everyone! I can't believe how long it's been since our last post together, not to mention.. Matt and I are married! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day surrounded by so much family, friends and love. The weather in Florida was just beautiful and our honeymoon in Hawaii was so much fun. If you haven't been, and you love the beach, outdoors, nature and delicious food, you must book a trip. Like now. Oahu, Maui - do it! I feel pretty accomplished about the entire thing, especially since Matt and I planned ourselves. Any questions, let me know in the comments below!

I am so excited to share with you some of my favorite photos from our engagement photo session shot in the infamous streets of the Meatpacking District and LES. Matt and I wanted to go for more of a fashion editorial style and our amazing photographers, Joseph and Christina Mills of Still55, totally delivered. See more photos and their fav shots here. 

As for my outfits, I'm so lucky that I got to style two! I definitely wanted to wear white, but in a more street style sort of way and knew this blazer dress was what I needed. I paired it with ankle boots for a more fall/winter look. My second dress is a nod to my wedding dress.. hint.. lace, lace, lace! And if you know me well, you knew I had to sneak in some leopard print up in here somewhere ;)

I just can't stop smiling.. we're engaged! Matt and I have been together for 8 years now and we have been inseparable since the day we met.
